Yosemite Falls Trail

Yosemite Falls trail is a beautiful 7.2 mile hike located in the vicinity of Yosemite Valley. This trail receives considerable traffic and is one of the popular locations in Yosemite National Park. It takes the average hiker to complete the trip in about 5 to 8 hours and due to relatively tough terrain along with high elevations. Due to it’s difficult terrain, it is recommended for experienced hikers. As you hike the trail, expect an increase in elevation and the possibility of low visibility. Also expect wet and slippery conditions caused by the snowy region. For this hike, it is recommended to wear a good pair of waterproof hiking boots.

Golden Canyon: Death Valley National Park

The Golden Canyon trail ending at Red Cathedral in is a scenic 2.9 mile hike in Death Valley National Park. This hike has been deemed a fairly moderate and is recognized as one of the easier trails located in Death Valley. It is recommended to use a map for this hike, as there are a few different branches that lead off the main trail. Even though this is a shorter hike, be sure to bring plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes. Be prepared to see a lot of colorful rocks and beautiful views!

Fern Canyon: Redwoods State Park

The Fern Canyon Loop trail is a hike that is kid friendly and great for the whole family! This short hike is only 1.1 miles and highly vegetated. It is recommended to wear waterproof boots or even water shoes, as the terrain is mainly creek bed. Expect to see a lot of wildlife, redwoods, and other types of beautifully lush vegetation.

John Muir Trail: Yosemite National Park

If you have a few weeks to spare and a good pair of hiking boots, this is a trail you will not want to pass up. John Muir Trail spans about 203.1 miles of Yosemite National Park and depending on how you pace, it takes hikers about 15-20 days to fully complete the trail. For this hike you will want to be sure to have all of the proper equipment and supplies for a long backpacking trip and be sure to plan ahead!

Lands End: San Francisco

Lands End Loop trail is a moderate yet scenic 3.4 mile hike in San Francisco. On this hike you will get beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge along with coastal views of the ocean. This is a great hike right near the city making it quite crowded, so an ideal time to go would be early morning.
